In the midst of emotional malaise...

There has been alot of ups and downs lately in my life. As a result, I've been hot and bothered, emo and melancholy, and I regret to say.... cynical at times. Then, it all crashes down to tears and burning spasms and aches of the feeling heart that fair shrivels its core - which only terminate with prayer and sleep.

Such a season of emotional malaise and trial. Oh, how I need His grace! Hope it will pass soon. But the Lord has been merciful to grant me joy despite it all. I love how relevant His Word always is to me, in any given circumstance. And I love the pure distractions of engaging myself in the various excitements that have been coming along - CG and WTR retreats, Shirley's wedding, vacation plans, my preparations to enter the seminary in June, August's mission trip to Sandakan, the upcoming ministry trips I plan to go on if the Lord provides, the people God's brought into my life that I may meet their needs, etc, etc. God is so good! Perhaps, it is so that, just as 2 Corinthians 1:11 says, God may be glorified amongst those who keep me in their prayers. And indeed, I'm glad my friends are no Job's Comforters!

We had a very wonderful time at CG last Saturday, even though it was just the 4 of us that rainy evening - Ben, Matthew, Ai Choo and myself. We sang 4 songs to praise and worship God, then fellowshipped in the Lord over Ben's mum's delectable longan jelly (seriously, I think she's really talented in making yummy things to eat!!!), instead of our usual book discussion. Shared and got real with one another about our various difficulties and the personal struggles we face being Christian and prayed with one another. Can you imagine? When we next looked up at the clock, it was 11.30pm! How time flew past! ~ But oh well, it was one of the weekend moments that truly encouraged me. There were of course, some other significant precious ones... but I decided to mention this one, because it meant alot to me. It made me remember that I am not the only one having problems in life, haha. And so, we've all got to bear one another's burdens and together, look to the Lord for strength and perseverance.
