Had lunch at Sun with Moon Jap restaurant (Wheelock, Orchard)... with Aunty May Ling - who happens to be Natalie's mum. It was a joyful occasion for me - to meet up with someone who has so greatly blessed me and provided for my seminary studies. Before this, I've only seen her in pictures and corresponded through emails. Today, I finally met her in person! :) You have no idea how thankful I was for such an opportunity. She's indeed a beautiful woman with laughing eyes! I didn't even feel the least intimidated.I really should have taken more pictures, but I was too fascinated with all the interesting things she had to tell me. I truly admire and am touched at her passion for God and still, her dependence on Him for everything. Indeed, I aspire to be a woman like her - when I grow up.
After lunch was over, I took an MRT to City Hall by myself...and took a long walk along Upper (or isit North) Bridge Road. Discovered St. Andrews' Church...And then, arriving at the Singapore River, I was mesmerized at the beautiful sky-scrapers fringing the scene... and then I spotted this...
A boat! Specifically the River Cruise...You spend 30 minutes on the boat, and they take you on a ride down the Singapore River and show you some famous Singapore landmarks...
Cautiously made my way through the lane parallel to the river. Struck by the number of seafood restaurants lined up along the lane!
I really liked the buildings in Clarke Quay...they just made me feel like I was back in Europe, somehow...
Fullerton Hotel - one of the oldest hotels in Singapore. This building used to be a hospital in World War II. The suspension bridge links Fullerton to the Asian Cultural Museum, where Ewan and Laura held their wedding ceremony + reception...
...and the Merlion appeared... (Ah, I can now safely say that I have seen 'him' with my own eyes - and not through pictures! :P)
Enjoying myself thoroughly...Who says that it's boring to do things alone? But having said that, I miss Ben...and I wish that he were here...
