Monday + meet-up with Serena... ~ photoblog

Tried some food places I wouldn't normally eat at on a regular day... Quiznos Sub @ Orchard Central...
My Honey Chicken Bourbon came with a moist-ish, yummy, melt-in-your-mouth (literally) choc-chip cookie...mmmm....

In the afternoon, I met up with Serena at City Hall MRT...

We ended up at Bakerzin, Suntec City Plaza... for lunch+tea...
This was what I appreciated very much - free-flow of warm, crusty, toasted bread...

Cutesie transparent plastic chairs... and red couches...
The yummy free-flow bread...you dip it into olive oil and some balsam/vinegar-ish dressing before shoving it into your mouth!
My sweet, beautiful friend and seminarian, Serena...
Ham and chicken/bacon pasta with in pink sauce
chicken and mushroom panini with melted cheese... very very nice!

mocha... for the long conversation that lay ahead... It was really good to catch up!
moist, chocolate cake.... with strawberries...
Lotsa love...

Us... :)

Monday

My final 3 days in the Land of the MerLion. *Rawwrrrrrrr* And then, I will be home.

This is indeed one of the most blessed, best trips I've made, ever. (Of course, the best is yet to come - when I make that final trip Home - up where I belong!) Although there has been no fuss and frills, the simplicity has been beautiful. I didn't have to stay in 5-star hotels or eat gourmet fare to be happy. The humble abodes that have opened up to me while I was here were filled with love and laughter, affirmation, inspiration...peace and ultimately, Jesus. The expenses were also well covered, by God's grace. I am thankful for all God's provisions, God's hand in matters I couldn't handle on my own, God's sweet and dear presence whenever I feel alone... and God Himself, in Whom my friendships hold together. Or rather, has held together - even through the many years behind us.

Guess what? The trip has been so wonderful, that I am even ready to go home... Satisfied and completely refreshed. It is a week of cherished memories indeed. Looking forward to see a beloved-one before he flies off to the States... and I won't see him again for a whole month-and-a-half.

Sunday photoblog...

Today dawned sunny. Clear blue skies. I went to church with Ewan, Laura, and Ji. Loved the service at TOC (Tabernacle of Christ). The sermon we heard was challenging and powerful. After TOC, we went out for lunch somewhere at MacPherson's... Then I was out on an adventure...all by myself.
Iluma Mall - an art-inspired shopping mall located at Bugis. I don't know. Some people go food-hunting whenever they travel and blog about all kinds of yummy delicacies. I do eat as I travel, but I do not have the gift of talking about my food. For me, I tend to be on the lookout for artsy-fartsy stuff... the aesthetics and artistic elements of buildings/shopping malls... and creative exhibits... (as well as good buys of course!) - therefore Iluma Mall was definitely on my to-see-list. I guess it's still pretty new - nothing that impressive yet. But give it a few years, it will probably blossom! :)

I have gotten so familiar with switching MRT lines now, that I now enjoy it.
Went to Orchard Road. This was what I got when I stepped out of the Orchard ION. Overwhelmingly, massive structures...and ehem, shopping centres.

Loved walking down the street and staring at the different shopping malls...

Again - my trip is so timely...that it even coincides with the Great Singapore Sale! You tell me - how not to spend money? :P

Lotsa people crossing at the pedestrian-crossings... Eager shoppers on a Sunday afternoon. I don't think I qualified to join their 'club'. I didn't shop much.
I don't know...what's that face?:P
So many coffee places...I was dying for a cup of ice-blended mocha then...but I decided that it could wait.
Ben would adore this...He's the environment-and-nature lover...

Anyway...I later stumbled across 313 Somerset Mall...Decided to explore this place...and was pleasantly surprised! There was not only many eateries... but it was a very nice and pretty place altogether.
pao-shop

I will so bring Ben here...the next time we come to Singapore together...

The fragrances of food were making me excited and hungry...

Crowded...

Adorable bookshop...
My favourite music/DVD shop back in Europe!!!
Ah, finally decided to go for coffee... Blue Mountain Cafe's Mocha Blum (below) was a delightful treat!
I sat there in deep conversation with God - till Ji came. She wasn't supposed to come, coz she worked the whole night last night in the Emergency Dept...and was supposed to be catching up on sleep...but my sweet, sweet sister came to chill with me. I was so blessed... we enjoyed a chocolate ice-cream wafer together...she drank coffee (and me my Mocha Blum), and we talked and talked and talked... Later she accompanied me window-shopping.
My sacrificial sister
We ended up at another artsy-fartsy mall - Orchard Central.

Really cool displays of artistry...The architecture of the building itself was artsy-fartsy too.

This was Ji zombified at dinner... well, at least she finished all her food...before she kept falling asleep on the way home @_@' *poor thing* - on the train, while standing and waiting for the train and whilst walking back to her apartment. You've got to remember...it's more than 24 hours of no sleep. (I appreciate her so much!)
