Specky dilemma...

After not wearing my contact lenses to school for a term, I finally decided to get back into the habit of doing so.

Did an experiment today.

Since my MBTS-mates have never seen me without my specs (STCM term was too tiring to wear contact lenses...coz I slept late and woke up early most of the time...and my eyes would be too swollen in the morning to even look at the clock - to say nothing of stuffing the delicate lenses into my delicate eyes) - everyone went, "Whoa! You look really different..."

Ok. That was to be expected... because everyone said the same thing to me when first went to school without my glasses back in 2nd med.

Of course there were 20% of people who wondered why I looked so different. I had to point out to them that I was not wearing my glasses! @_@

Then, later one of my friends came up to me at lunch, and said very earnestly (I knew she wasn't kidding!), "Whoa...You know...I couldn't recognize you in chapel just now. I was wondering, 'Who's that new girl from China....' " Hardy har har. I could only choke with laughter.

Having said that... I have seriously lost count of the number of people amongst the Malaysians who think that I am from China...even when I wore my glasses....

I am now speechless...and wondering if I should continue wearing 'em lenses to school.
