Monday's musings

I'd like a cup of freshly brewed coffee today.

Thank God. No headache today! (oklar, I admit, got a little bit, but I'll ignore it) Can at least get some work done. Thanks for praying guys. The last time I had this problem, I got my blood checked - and they found out that I had a borderline haemoglobin count. I do hope it's not the same problem now. The headaches this time are a little more intense than those in the last throng - but it's not the daily dull tension ache I had. Perhaps, I just need to work on managing stress - gotta stop being silly and ruminating on all my problems. After all, God calls us to cast our cares on Him.

My weekend. A very humbling one, in many aspects.

On the lighter note - blisters all over my feet. One bleeding one, and a few more encased in band-aid. Actually, I realized, now that the band-aids are temporarily off, the ones on my first metacarpophalangeal joint are cuts. That's the bad thing about having hallux valgus.

Distractions in the midst of being very busy was one thing. But I was also brought to face all the little attitude flaws in me that I should work on more vigorously to discard. The stuff that don't glorify God. Etcetera. The thought of how I've grieved the Lord (and people perhaps) in the things I say, think and do sometimes in my carnal nature, truly sobered me. And yet, how merciful and gracious He is to pardon when I repent and to still give me the best things - when He could so well have removed them. For that I tremble. How beautiful - He never gives up weaning us to depend on Him. Had to fight back tears while we were singing out of the hymnal, "I am Thine O Lord..." at church yesterday. How unworthy we are to come before the Father - but because He who is just and full of love sent His Son, Jesus, we can now draw near to His throne of grace...and through His Spirit, cry out 'Abba Father!'

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
