Saturday, 7.11.09

Pale and tired today.

Usually, when I sleep-in on Saturday mornings, I have no problems staying asleep... (Even until lunch :P ~ I PROMISE, this is ONLY on Saturdays) This morning, I just couldn't go back to sleep after I woke up! How tragic. *Sobs*

I tried tossing and turning in bed, but to no avail. I was half-awake, but I couldn't completely shut down and go back to sleep. Realizing that a full-force headache would start pounding if I continued to lie in bed half-awake and half-asleep, I had to finally get up - albeit very reluctantly. Showered. Had coffee. And sat down to work again.

Well, the sunny side of that is - I finished writing out one of the reflection papers for Music and Missions. I believe, with God's strength and grace, everything will be all right.

I know. This is random. My nose is running. I'm hoping it's just allergic rhinitis. And it won't change my voice. I also hope that I won't go down with a flu - since one of my partners-in-ministry is already sick! (Kevin, please, please heal quickly! @_@)

Anyway....it was my boyfriend's birthday today... We had a simple celebration yesterday evening, eating Western food at the J.L Gourmet Coffee place in Prangin Mall (seriously amazing quality food at such reasonable prices! ~ I'd totally recommend it!) and catching a movie. We sat around in the cafe having heart-to-heart talk over dinner... glad of some quality time to spend with one another, amidst our busy, tiring and sometimes depressing schedules.

Today, we didn't do much - I had to get some work done in the morning (yeah, I know... I still tried to sleep-in to pay off some sleep debt. Didn't exactly work, huh...) and Ben needed the morning off to rest... so we only met up for lunch and then we went grocery-shopping at Tesco's... to replenish my stash of food. I felt very guilty all the way, because I couldn't do much for his birthday this year :(

Then I felt even guiltier when he came to my place in the afternoon, and helped me clean up my apartment, while I prepared to lead Bible-study for today's CG meeting. Especially my toilet and the hairy floors. How romantic! :P ~ I felt bad. It wasn't even my birthday today! *cries*

Our CG had a little surprise party for Ben after worship, Bible study, sharing and prayer today. Really thank God for understanding and wonderful CG mates who organized/executed the whole thing together... super-duper efficiently - while I was so caught up with work. Janet did most of the admin work and coordination, our friends made and brought the yummy food...(thanks people!) and I only could over-see everything. Praise God that everything went smoothly and Ben was happy.

Needless to say... we were stuffed after the party. But blessed by the fellowship.

One last thing...

Today, I tried singing this Hokkien worship song. The first line was supposed to mean "Jesus loves me" ~ but when I sang it to Ben, he cracked up laughing and said, "Jesus loves listening to song? What song?" *faints*
