I am currently in Dr. Sunny Tan's theology class, which I thoroughly enjoy... Let me say it again: I LOVE IT!!! I love how it challenges my pre-conceived ideas of God and helps me to think. If you think theology is all about sophisticated facts and jargon, long words, philosophical writings, and etcetera, you've over-generalized! It is actually a biblical study of God. But oh my, oh my... each day comes with a thick packet of readings. Master level students have got extra stuff to read...on top of the reflection papers and essays we've got to write. *Cries* In short, I've got more and more homework to add to my ever-growing portion, more datelines to fill into my year-planner, etc. And I forsee more late nights, early mornings, and ...ugh, growing eyebags! :(
Ok, let's get onto the less 'whiny' stuff...
In contrast to yesterday's cool and wet climate, today it was scorching hot especially mid-afternoon. I kid you not, but Ai Hua and I were roasting away in my car. This was such a joke! Ai Hua took a ride to school with me and back today - because she hurt her back and is not allowed to drive for the time being. Since I had her in my car, I was allowed to park in the staff's carpark. This meant that I could drive up the slopes that led to the main buildings instead of parking my car at the students carpark across the road from the school and climbing up the steep slopes on foot like I usually do.
I felt sorry for my car though. Old Grandfather Wira, who had not been subjected to such physical torture for quite some time now, had to climb the steep slope. To give Grandfather Wira a boost of 'power', Ai Hua turned off my air-con as well as its compressor (I'm not sure what u call that!). Later when it was time for us to drive home, I turned on the air-con without turning the compressor thingy back on (car experts, I think you can guess what I mean if the terminology is wrong! Hehe!). Anyway, the fans worked away... The car of course did not cool down, but became more and more like a sauna... I thought it would start floating upwards into the sky after a while - like a hot air balloon. It wasn't until we've gone around all the Batu Feringghi bends, when Ai Hua giggled and pointed out that we forgot to turn on the compressor thingy... @_@' How I laughed myself silly!
I think Old Grandfather Wira would have been laughing away too, if we could hear him... I mean, Ai Hua and I kept talking about 'our pores opening' and saunas, while we sat in his belly! ~ And all we had to do was just to turn on the compressor!
Sigh, I thought I had left my c2, geeky days far, far behind...
Had music practice after school. I truly enjoyed it. I love my team, everyone in it and our practice sessions. I love our song, even though we do not give perfect presentations of it yet. But, thank God for so much improvement since the first day. May it be a fragrant offering unto the Lord.
What we had for lunch: Rice, 'yau muck' (a kind of green vegetable I absolutely love), sambal lady-fingers and aubergines, and yummy fried fish. Feel so, so blessed! :)
